Are You Ready To Get "In C?"

Widely considered the first minimalist composition ever written, Terry Riley’s 1964 work “In C” consists of melodic fragments written for an undetermined ensemble - the instrumentation and amount of players is really up to whomever decides to produce the work. Accordion, electric guitar, violin, harp, trombone - all instruments are welcome. Join us at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10, inside the contemporary gallery of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art for a performance of “In C” when Trillium Salon Series joins forces with NorthWest Arkansas Community College’s (NWACC) music department to perform the work as part of NWACC’s 2022 Spring Arts and Culture Festival. A seminal composition of minimalism performed live, alongside Mark Rothko and Andy Warhol paintings? This will be undeniably transportive.

P.S. - we’re seeking musicians to perform “In C.” If you’re interested in playing, please fill out this form to apply!
