New Movement at Mount Sequoyah

We’re thrilled to partner with dance collective BODYSONNET for their site specific work “New Movement at Mount Sequoyah" featuring a live score created by composer Amos Cochran with COVID-safe outdoor performances at 7:30 pm both Saturday, May 29, & Sunday, May 30, up on magical Mount Sequoyah in Fayetteville. Purchase your tickets here.

"New Movement at Mount Sequoyah" will be created from interviews with local residents about their memories of Mount Sequoyah and their lives in the Ozarks. Words, voices, and memories are collaged together through dance, music, and theatre for an immersive outdoor performance as part of the collective’s artist residency at Mount Sequoyah throughout the month of May. Along with creating a new work, the group will offer free community dance jams 7 p.m. on the third and fourth Saturdays of May to connect with the Fayetteville community. BODYSONNET is a collective of contemporary dance makers dedicated to providing communities unique and inclusive performance experiences that highlight the intersection of artistic mediums. All events are accessible to all abilities.
