We’re thrilled to present a night with Emmy nominated composer/pianist Amos Cochran Saturday, Feb. 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the historic Guisinger building on the Fayetteville downtown square, now serving as Roots Headquarters.
Amos will perform original compositions on piano, electronics and with the help of violinist Miranda Baker Burns. This all ages show will have a donation bar for wine and beer. His Trillium concert serves as a homecoming of sorts and marks his debut performance as a composer pianist in his hometown. Amos grew up in Fayetteville and played bass in many bands before moving south to Van Buren, when he retreated into crafting delicately honed bedroom sounds with a keyboard and electronic components. The music proved well-suited for film scores such as Dayveon, which had its premiere at the 2017 Sundance film festival and went on to screen at both the Berlin and Toronto International Film Festivals. In 2018 Cochran released his first solo albums, Unscored and Helium Angel. Last fall he premiered the large scale work “A Modern Procedure for Breathing” at The Unexpected in Downtown Fort Smith.
